

He was born July 1, 1927 in Chicago to William and Lillian (Miller) Schindler. He married Wanda Meyer Oct. 9, 1948 in Cicero, IL. She survives along with two sons: William (Barbara) Schindler of East Peoria, Gary Schindler of Creve Coeur, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one brother, Roy Schindler of Creve Coeur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Terry Schindler and one sister Eleanor Wilson.
Bill was a truck driver for Dallas and Mavis retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Teamsters Retiree Club, and the Eastside Baptist Church in Morton. He invented the clip gun for the Festival of Lights and volunteered there for many years. Bill had a passion for his trucks.
Funeral services will be Wednesday March 20, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
Memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church.
