Mr. Amos Daniel Burdett, Jr. age 88 of Grantville, GA, passed away on Monday, September 05, 2011. In addition to being an auto mechanic for 47 years; Mr. Burdett was also an avid Boy Scout Leader. He was a youth minister and mentor to all. His hobbies included singing and playing guitar to gospel music. Mr. Burdett was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Mildred Louis Whidby. He is survived by sons, Amos Burdett III, Robert Burdett and Michael Burdett; daughters, Sheila Burdett and Margaret Potts; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. A memorial service honoring Mr. Burdett’s life will be on at 12 pm, Friday, September 9, 2011 in the First Baptist Church of Grantville. The Family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service.
