To the Steadham family I am so very sorry to hear of David's passing.  David and I worked at Fulton County.  If you were down David knew just how to cheer you up. I Loved the way he told you just what he thought. David was a true friend, he will be missed. You will continue to be in my prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve the loss of your loved one, David. 

I was shocked to receive the news ... I hadn’t seem him since he retired but he was often in my thoughts. 

David presented himself friendly; consequently he made many friends. 

He was a very compassionate man and it was my pleasure knowing him. 

As the days and weeks pass, as you return to life's routine, I pray you will continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

A great person, A great friend, A great uncle that will always be missed.... love you uncle david you was one of the best its just brings tears to my eyes that you are gone. I'm glad you dont have to feel no more pain...You are at home with god now and your mom and dad.  David was a great person, a great friend a great uncle that will always be missed and loved...love you uncle david you was one of the best uncles on the steadham side that I was very close to and one of the very best... Its just brings tears to my eyes that you are gone but you are at home with god now and your mom and dad... Glad you dont have to feel no more pain cause you was in pain much to long.... David was my best friend. I will miss him.

I meet David through his brother Joey. When I did not have a place to stay he gave me one more than once. I love David and will miss him very much. David was my friend. I will love him always.

David, it doesn't take "a rocket scientist" to know how much I miss our long talks and the memories of Fulton County.(The good ones and bad ones, thus the "Ode to David.") May you now rest in peace. My deepest sympathy is conveyed to your family.

Most girls dream of Knights in shining armor but I was blessed because David was mine in real life. David was my hero, best friend, confidant, and love. He protected me from harm. Comfort me when sad. Made me laugh. Teased me until I yelled "mercy". He taught me what true love is. Although his body may be gone, his spirit will live on in my heart. I feel like I know each sister and brother because David would speak of you often. I can hear him now telling me not to cry for that would be silly. David did things David's way. He was always true to himself. So please rejoice that David lived good. He loved and was loved. May you all have God's peace and love to comfort you.

David was honest, caring, frugal, hard working, highly intelligent, funny and loving. He did not care what others perceived of him for he was true to himself. If he called you friend then you should be honored. He was the defender of those who where down trodden. He was my Hero, Best Friend and Love. David came to my rescue if he thought someone was doing me wrong. We have been friends since teenagers. I am honored and humbled that our prom picture was included in the slide show. David and I discussed for years about marriage but both of us being stubborn could never agree terms. We would laugh about running away to Vegas. The ceremony would be performed by Elvis in the Little White House on the strip. David was best when he would surprise me. A rose, lunch, a special gift, trips. He took great thought in the things he did. He was mischievous like a little boy. Liked to piss people off just to laugh at them later. I will miss him greatly. I am one of the lucky ones who truly got to know him personally for he guarded his personal life. My heart goes to his family. He spoke of you all often. I feel as if I know all of you. David loved each one of you. He always wanted the best for you all. Even though his body is gone, he will live forever in my heart.

 To: the Family and Friends of David Steadham. I live/lived next to David in Conyers. I will miss him, dearly. I built a wall to keep people out, but for whatever reason God let David walk through that wall, unaware. David called me at 5:43 pm 11,09,2010; and told me to come to the fence. I did not hesitate because I thought he might need me to help him do something. Instead he greeted me with two plates of food. I talked to him for about fifteen minutes. I had a short sleave shirt on, and could fill a chill in the air. I looked at David and noticed that he had a short sleave shirt on, too. I got a feeling that he was getting cold, too. So, I mentioned to him that it is chilly out here, and then told him that "I am going in the house. I'll see you tommorrow, brother". That was the last time that I saw David alive. In closing, my heart goes out to each of you. Your loss is my loss, and your sadness is my sadness.

Dear family,
I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of David. We both worked for Fulton County forever and have known each other for most of that time. I could always count on him  to irritate me (ha) alot and cheer me up at the same time. You knew where you stood with him, because he was so honest and wasn't afraid to voice his opinion. I will miss him.
