Mr. Donald S. Cohen

Mr. Donald S. Cohen, age 80 of Riverdale, GA passed away on November 14, 2012. Mr. Cohen was born in Shreveport, LA and raised in Leesville, LA. He served in the Armed Forces during the Vietnam War before working for Delta Airlines, where he retired after 30 years. After retirement, Mr. Cohen was a volunteer in several capacities at Fayette Piedmont Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Mary Abrams Cohen; brother, Mickey Cohen and stepson, Phillip Putch. Those left to cherish his memory include sister, Betty Balter of Miami, FL; daughter, Jennifer A. Cohen of Peachtree Corners, GA; ex wife, Mary Cohen of Smyrna, GA; step children, Diana Cooper of Fayetteville, GA, Scott Cooper (son-in-law) of San Antonio, TX, Elizabeth Putch of Canton, GA and Mark (Candy) Putch of Elizabeth, CO; grandchildren, Marie (Wes) Huffman, Travis Cooper, Amy Putch, Stacey Putch, Amber Burkhardt, Mackenzie Huffman and Alexis Huffman; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services honoring Mr. Cohen will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at 2 pm at the Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, 2968 East Point St, East Point, GA 30344, 404-761-1138. The family will accept friends one hour prior to service. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park, GA following the service.
