Harold Lafayette Bell

Harold Lafayette Bell, 82, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014. He was born December 20, 1931 to the late William F. and Mamie S. Bell in Lee County, SC. He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Benefield Bell; grandson James Montgomery Bell; and brothers Herbert G. Bell and John W. Bell.He is survived by son and daughter-in-law Michael H. and Bridget Bell, grandchildren David N. Bell and Stephanie Bell Kleimann, brothers Ray Franklin Bell and Lennie Smith Bell. Harold served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean conflict. He worked over 30 years with Eastern Airlines and retired as DC 9 Captain. He was a long time active member of the East Point Presbyterian Church.

There will be a graveside service at College Park Cemetery Tuesday January 21 at 1 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following at the College Park Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to College Park Presbyterian Church after-school program or Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital.
