

Madeline Garner Corry, age 96, died peacefully on March 5, 2011 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, MD. She lived in Pylesville, Md. with her daughter and son-in law. She was a native of Sparta, Ga. and a long time resident of Atlanta and College Park, Ga. She was an employee of Fulton County Board of Education as a school clerk, retiring in 1979. She was a 60 year member of The First Baptist Church of College Park, Ga. where she was actively involved in many capacities, especially in the area of teaching. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, George H. Corry, Sr. She was a blessing to her family and will be greatly missed by her daughter Mary Ann Corry McCauley and son-in-law, Bruce of Pylesville, Md.; son, George H. Corry, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Dana of Columbia, Md.; grandson, George H. Corry, III and wife, Heather of Kennesaw, Ga.; great grand daughter, Moxie Mae Marin Corry of Kennesaw, Ga.; grandson, Brandon Shoun-Corry of Arlington, Va.; brother, C. Greene Garner and sister-in-law, Peggy of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Sue Kegley Corry and sister, Phyllis Hardy of Marietta, Ga.; niece, Tracie Garner Roth of Atlanta; nephew, Jere Mills of Greensboro, Ga.; nephew, Hilton Garner of Dayton, Ohio.Graveside services will be held March 11 at 2:00 p.m., Greenwood Cemetery, 1173 Cascade Road, S.W. Atlanta. Dr A. Hugh MacDonald and Rev. Tillman Pritchett officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, East Point, 404-761-1138. Donations in her name may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
