Marion Jackson Anderson

Mrs. Marion J. Anderson, age 88, of East Point, passed away August 13, 2014. She was born in Gainesville, FL, lived in Jacksonville, FL, and eventually settled in the Atlanta area. She graduated from Russell High School and attended Bob Jones University. Mrs. Anderson was a bookkeeper and accountant at Baptist Tabernacle in Atlanta and worked for Billy Graham Evangelist Assoc. and the Federal Aviation Administration. She retired from FAA on Feb. 28, 1992. She volunteered playing the piano for years at the Union Mission and for the Golden Friends Sunday School at First Baptist Church, Atlanta. She attended First Baptist Church Atlanta for over 30 Years. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Ida Bell Jackson; sisters, Dorothy Preston and Sylvia Eggli. Surviving are sons, Paul and David Anderson, daughters, Danise Manning, Nina Moody, grandchildren; Ian, Matt, and Leighton Anderson, Ashley and Brittany Manning, Kyle And Clint Moody, Derek Griffin, Julie Wilson and Natalie McCurley, 11 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 11:00 am at Historic Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home 2968 East Point St. East Point, GA 30344. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time.
