Mrs. Timmons was born and raised in Chattanooga and was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class. She was a former member of East Chattanooga Baptist Church where she was active with the Cradle Roll, served as Assistant Youth Director, and helped to plan retreats and evangelistic meetings serving on many committees. Mrs. Timmons was a dedicated wife and homemaker and always willing to help anybody at the East Ridge Retirement Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and Edward Pomeroy, Sr.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Claude Timmons; two brothers, Ed (Imogene) Pomeroy and Bill (Jewell) Pomeroy; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Graveside Services will follow at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Grady Dishroon officiating.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
