Alta Ruth “Pud” Salmond, 91, of Chattanooga passed away Monday, November 1, 2010. She was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir. She was retired from TVA and from Hamilton County as a secretary. Alta was a longtime Red Cross Volunteer.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Merrill Theodore Love and her second husband Henry Salmond.
She is survived by her children, Becky Schmitt (Otis), Alta Ruth Ebert (Gene), Michael Love (Sara), Thomas M. Love (Kay), Mary Crawford (Keith) and Ted Love; nine grandchildren, Rhonda Lane, Ted Ebert, Thea Ebert-Butterfield, Eric Ebert, Jeff Crawford, Hope Crawford, Val Love, Simon Love and Carrie Love; seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with the Rev. Johnathan Horseman officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery in Ringgold, GA. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home and from 12-2 PM Thursday at the church.
Pallbearers include Jeff Crawford, Val Love, Eric Ebert, Simon Love, Richard Butterfield, Isaiah Crawford, Matthew Lane and Thomas Lane
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
