

She was born in Chattanooga to Charles and Edna Stocker and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She attended the University of Chattanooga, was a graduate of Cadek Music Conservatory, owner and operator of Betty Byrne Interiors and volunteered at the Chattanooga Food Bank and Friends of the Library.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard P. Byrne, Jr.; and daughter, Susan Elizabeth Byrne.
Surviving are her son, Bernard P.”Ben” (Nancy) Byrne, III; daughter Jane (Jim) Hughes; daughter, Marie (Tom) Burnett; son, Eddy V. Byrne; grandchildren, Dr. Christopher P. (Joanna) Bechtel, Courtney Anne Byrne (fiancé, Lebron Kaylor), and Christian Bernard Byrne; sister, Billie Carter-Hilton; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (6221 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421) or Chattanooga Deanery School Fund c/o OLPH Catholic Church (501 S. Moore Road, East Ridge, TN 37412).
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the funeral home.
A Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM on Thursday at OLPH Catholic Church with Monsignor Al Humbrecht, Fr. James Vick, Fr. P.J. McGinnity, and Fr. Mike Nolan officiating and Organist Mona Manning. Additional visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
