

She was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and graduated from Hopkinsville High School. She retired from Roper Corporation after 25 years of dedicated service. Prior to moving to the East Ridge area near Chattanooga, she lived in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she worked at Ochsner Hospital. She was a longtime member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church in East Ridge and an active member of the Kiwanis Club.
Betty Joyce married the love of her life, Leon Joseph Morlas Jr., and they were blessed to share 53 wonderful years together. They loved cooking, entertaining family and friends, and traveling. One of their favorite traditions was attending the Kentucky Derby.
She will be remembered for her quick wit, kind heart, and well-mannered presence. She was always willing to help those she loved and had a special affection for her dogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Joseph Morlas Jr. of Chattanooga, Tennessee; her parents, Mr. J.V. and Christine Davidson; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Shepherd of Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
She is survived by her nieces, Lucine E. Hawn and Mary Ellen Presson (Tommy), both of Vicksburg, Mississippi.
