Mr. Setliffe was born in Chattanooga to David and Willie Mae Setliffe. He was a graduate of McCallie High School, the University of Chattanooga and Washington University. Mr. Setliffe was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Lee Anderson Sunday School Class. He retired as a hospital administrator from Wilson Memorial Hospital in Wilson, NC. And was a US Air Force veteran serving in the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Eva H. Setliffe; son, Scott (Karen) Setliffe of Louisville, KY; daughter, Susan (David) Schorch of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Turner, Lesli (Ryan) Sweeney, Stuart Setliffe, Aaron Schorch and Amber Schorch; three great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Frances Setliffe of Crestwood, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Chuck Setliffe and his parents.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday, January 18th at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, January 19 at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Mike Milton officiating and visitation from 11 AM to 12:30 PM at the church. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
