Karen Darlene Gass, 65, of Chattanooga passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021. She was of the Baptist Faith and was retired as Criminal Records Supervisor from Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department. She had also taught NCIC classes to police officers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar L Johnson, Jr. and Nellie Ruth Self Johnson; a sister, Brenda Swallowsbrother and a brother, Charles Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, Ted Gass; step daughter, Leslie Gass Shaw; step-son, Justin Gass; granddaughter, Allie Shaw; brother, Edgar Johnson; four sisters, Shelby Gass, Virginia “Ginger” Pendergraph, Patricia Bell and Sharon Hawkins; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with the Rev. Greg Ezell officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Tuesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or the American Cancer Society.
