Dora Lee Caldwell

“Gone from this earth..... But never to be forgotten.”

Ms. Caldwell, Born Dora Lee Fails, grew up in Jasper, TN with her parents William and Minnie Fails, and sister, Bonnie Fails (Perkins). Married Francis Lee Shaffer and raised 3 children, Craig Shaffer, April Lee Shaffer, and Mark Shaffer. In Jasper, Dora & Lee owned a local grocery store, after divorcing she then moved to Chattanooga, TN and worked for the state of TN. Retired, and moved to East Ridge, TN and married James Oscar Caldwell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Bonnie, and Husband Oscar.

Survived by "Nana's" (her favorite name) 3 children, 2 step-children and their families.

Benjamin Craig (Nancy) Shaffer, Grandchildren, Craig (Mallory) Shaffer II., and Great- Grandchildren, Adrea & Ben Shaffer III., and Timothy Lee Shaffer.

April Lee Shaffer (Jim) Cordell, Grandchildren, Crystle Lee Cordell (Lance) Elam, James Hunter (Chelsea) Cordell, Great-Grandchild, Dolly Lee Cordell.

Mark Dewitt (Rachel) Shaffer, Grandchildren, Hayden Shaffer and Austin Shaffer, Step-son Gary Caldwell, Ron Caldwell, and families.

Private, family only graveside services will be held on Friday, May 8 at Chattanooga National Cemetery, due to the National Health crisis.

Memorial Service will be announced at a later date for family & friends.

Arrangements are made by Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist East Chapel, 404 South Moore Rd. East Ridge, TN 37412.
