

Dorothy “Dot” Wofford Garrett, of Chattanooga, Tennessee died in her sleep on February 4, 2018 after celebrating her 86th birthday. She was born in Chattanooga, the daughter of Thomas and Lena Rowe Wofford and was proceeded in death by her parents, sisters Emily Wofford, Margaret Wise, Charlotte Conner and brother, Erwin Wofford.
She is survived by brother, Leslie (Clara) Wofford of Birmingham, AL and several nieces and nephews.
She was a lifelong member of Concord Baptist Church. She graduated from Tyner High School in 1950. She spent her working years at Provident Insurance Company, Farmer’s Chemical Company and retired from the IRS after 15 years of service. For most of her adult life she volunteered at Erlanger hospital with the American Red Cross for over 60 years and Gray Lady organization.
Visitation will be 10:30 am to 12:30 pm Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Concord Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 12:30 pm at the church with Dr. David King officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Concord Baptist Church. Dot Garrett was a faithful servant of God and her life can be best defined by one of her favorite bible verses I Peter 4:10 “ Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
