Both Edith & Ted made an impact on our lives and through their example we learned how to reach out to others with God's love.  Over the years we enjoyed knowing them and loved having them as guests in our home.

Dear Cousins, It saddens me that the last of the generation is gone. If not for your mother I would not be. She introduced my parents to one another. You will miss her as I miss mine. I hope you are all well and to see you again someday.

Dear June, Gywnn & Edie~
My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. I truly know what you are feeling with the Homegoing of your dear mother. There is not a day I don't miss my mom & dad and I know you will miss her so much. But she is with our blessed Lord and free of pain.
 I know it has been many, many years since I would spend time at your house and always welcomed so by your mom and dad! and I so loved coming to stay! Your mom made great burgers-she always had potato buns(crazy thing to remember) but I also remember she tried really hard to get me to eat cottage cheese on one of my overnite stays...she said it would be great on waffles! I never could like cottage cheese--but I did remember her wanting me to! 
What a blessed hope to know your mom and dad are in Heaven and you will see them again ~ and they are free of the pains of this world. Don't you know they are celebrating today!

Dear Ones (Ted & Edie DeMoss Girls…ALL)

The earnest prayers of many in the Word of Life family have been with Edie and you girls during Edie’s illness and home going. EDIE & TED DEMOSS WERE “CLASS ACTS” to so many people…literally, world – wide. It’s true, that Ted was the “star” without even trying, Edie was the classic “cheerleader, encourager, help-meet wife and mother, as we knew her. We all loved her here. I think of just a few of those who were in heaven to welcome her…and there are many, many. Shirley and I would loved to have been there with you all to encourage you, but we surely do understand the strain and stress you have all been experiencing, and the need for your close family to be together, especially at this time.

Joe and Melva Jordan, Don and Darla Lough along with Shirley and I and a host of others send our love to you, June, Gwen and Edie, and all the grand childen-. There has already been rejoicing in heaven over Edie’s arrival…chief among them was Ted and our Lord. 

Psalms 116:15 is REALLY TRUE!  “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.”  The Living Bible says it even better, “His loved ones are very precious to Him and he does not lightly let them die.”

June, Eadie and Gwynne,
Joy and I want to tell you how much we enjoyed your mother over the many years we ministered together with her and Ted on the CBMC Board, starting over 20 years ago.  We always enjoyed our times with your mother, and join you in the bitter-sweet rejoicing that she is with her well-loved Ted, and her Lord Jesus, now face-to-face.
Ted was a key mentor to me, in life and in ministry, and we all agree that much of what made him so used of the Lord was the support and prayers of your mother.
As both Joy and I have lost both of our parents, we have experienced some of the impact of their passing, as do you these days. 
Your mom lived life well. It will be a joy to see her one day.

June, Eadie and Gwynne,
Joy and I join you and your family and friends in celebrating your mother's life well lived!! Both Joy and I know the emotions of losing first one and then the other parent, and the immense sense of "knocking off the top of the family pyramid" and its sense of finality and loss, we do join you in the joy of knowing that your mother is with Jesus, the Father, Ted whom she so loved and supported and encouraged!
You know, I think, that I consider Ted as one key mentor of mine, in ministry and in life. We loved Edith, and look forward to seeing her, with her dear Ted, one day in heaven.  I have fond memories of praying for you three and your families for years at our Board meetings with your dad and mom. We love you!!

Gwynne, thank you for letting me talk to Edith on the phone this past week.  She sounded so good...her usual humor in tact.  She has missed Ted so much and each time we met and talked the conversation would turn toward him and she would tearfully say how much she missed him.  
I am thankful she is now with him and with the Lord Jesus whom she served.

You, Edie and June and the family are in our prayers.

Gynne, I am so sorry to hear of your mothers' passing. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Just let me know if you need anything.

A few days ago I spoke with you on the phone and when asked how you were your reply was "oh, I'm fat & sassy".  The humor never left you. All the times we talked the conversation would turn to your beloved Ted and the tears would start.  I am so happy for you today...being with Jesus and Ted.  My prayers are with your family.  You will be sorely missed.

I am sorry to hear about your mother's passing.  She lived a very long and good life with 3 special daughters and many fine grandchildren.  I hope the rest of your life is going well.  I think about the Brissons often.

Dear June, Gwen and Edie and Families,

My prayers and best wishes for your comfort and peace on the HOMEGOING of Edith.  I know that HE has already given you both, as He is always faithful to His promises.  

I did not get to talk with Edith lately, but I know she is rejoicing with Jesus and Ted today.  We talked about Ted and Hugh a lot together.  

The photo I have included was one made at Jennifer's wedding.  The three of them were good friends, all CBMC wives.  Her life was well lived and an honor to her Lord, her husband and her children and grandchildren.  I'm thankful that I can call her "friend".
