Edward was a retired truck driver, a Vietnam veteran, and a loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Roy Dodson, Jaunita Kramer and Peggy McClain; and former wife, Betty Jean Dodson.
Surviving are his sons, Claude (Vicky) Dodson of East Ridge and Phillip (Roxy) Dodson of Chattanooga; granddaughter, Amy (Matt) Day of East Ridge; great-granddaughters, Makayla and Makenslee; siblings, Paul (Mary) Dodson of Red Bank, Richard (Marianne) Dodson of Florida, Mary (Hershel) Hartline of Chattanooga and David Dodson of East Ridge; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist. 404 South Moore Road.
