She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, C.C. Mercer.
Survivors include her children, Kelly Gates, Conley James (Sherry) Mercer and Martha Mercer (Jess) Whitlock; grandson, David Conley Mercer all of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews.
She was also a mother to Richard Knight Harrison and Manuel Christi.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. David Hall and the Rev. Lawrence Clark officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Tuesday and from 11 AM-1 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
