Elizabeth Lerch Lieker Varnell passed away Friday, August 22, 2014 in a local healthcare facility. She was born January 25, 1922 .She attended Brainerd Baptist Church. Mrs. Varnell was a homemaker, worked outside the home as a caregiver and was past president of the PTA at Barger Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Varnell, Jr.; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Lieker; three sisters; one brother.
Survivors include her children, Celia (Hilliard) Brock; Charlotte (Gary) Kines, Daniel Varnell; Amy (Brad) Phillips and Sally Varnell; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews; Special family friend, Evie Varnell and her “bestest” friend, Julie Cross.
The family has chosen a private memorial service and burial at Chattanooga National Cemetery without any visitation.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road.
