

Elizabeth Louise Gamble Walker, age 91, of Chattanooga died on Thursday, June 16, 2011 in a local nursing home. She was born in Georgetown, Tennessee. A longtime resident of Chattanooga. A 1936 graduate of Ooltewah High School. She was employed with Davenport Hosiery Mill for over 20 years and she retired from the United States Postal Service. She was of the Methodist faith.
Preceded in death by father, Ed Gamble, mother, Bessie Coppinger Gamble, husband, Clarence J. Walker; daughter, Nancy Collins Elmore.
Survived by two sons, Wayne (Christie) Walker of Ooltewah, James (Mavis) Walker of Hixson and daughter, Carolyn (Jerry) Holsomback of East Brainerd; one brother,William Gamble of Chattanooga; four grandchildren, Pam (Mike) Hass of Chattanooga, Richard (Karen) Elmore, Cookeville, Tennessee , Mista (Jeff) Gallmon of Dalton, Georgia and Justin Walker of Chattanooga; son-in-law, Rex Elmore of Chattanooga; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Friday at 10:30 A.M. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Wayland Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 9 AM to 10 AM at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
