Ernest Brooks

Ernest Brooks, age 79, a longtime resident of Chattanooga, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Ernest was born in Crossville, Alabama the son of the late William and Vada Brooks. He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy. Mr. Brooks was a Master Plumber and Electrician having retired from SCT Yarns. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Preceded in death by seven brothers, Jewell, L.C., Junior, Gilbert, Marvin, Floyd and Jim; sister, Cleo Snow; granddaughter, Christy Gail Burr.

Survived by loving wife of 38 years, Emma Brooks of Chattanooga; son, Earl (Vicki) Brooks of East Ridge; two step daughters, Sharon (Allen) Buquo of Chattanooga and Lynda (Ernie) Brown of Chattanooga; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren; brother, Walter (Christine) Brooks of Valley Head, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 1 PM at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Nix officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 4 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.
