

Eugene Wooten, age 82 , of Chattanooga went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. He was born on December 15, 1929 , son of the late Walter and Beulah Wooten. Mr. Wooten’s military career spanned 40 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a veteran of the Korean Conflict, and served in the National Guard and the Army Reserve. He retired as a Master Sergeant. He and his late wife, Gayle Wooten, owned and operated Silk Originals of East Brainerd for over 20 years. Mr. Wooten was preceded in death by his wife, Gayle Wooten; brother, Truman Wooten.
Survived by daughter, Connie (David) Wetter of Murfressboro, Tennessee; grandson, Daniel Wetter; daughters from a previous marriage, Darlene Center of Chattanooga and Pam Thompson of Graysville ;sisters-in-law, Lee Ann (Bobby) Parker of Chattanooga and Sandra (Ben) Steele of Flat Rock, Alabama; brother-in-law, Sam ( Berniece) Tate of East Brainerd; nephew, Jim Tate of Chattanooga and great nephew, Fletcher Tate of Chattanooga.
Graveside services with military honors will be conducted on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 1 PM at Lakewood Memory Gardens East with Rev. Dale Lovelady officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their appreciation to his caregivers, Steven and Denise, with Preferred Care at Home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
