Mr. Matthews was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; parents, Roy and Altie Matthews; one brother and four sisters.
He is survived by two daughters, Pamela Hicks and Bridgitte Schmidt; two sons, Edward and Leon Matthews; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Wednesday, June 24, at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will follow at 12:30 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
