Hattie Carter, age 92, of Rossville died Monday, February 20, 2012 at a local health care facility. She was born May 5, 1919 in Cowan, Tennessee. She attended Unity Baptist Church. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ray Carter; her parents, William Riley and Sara Ann McBee Hedrick; her dauther-in-law, Yvonne Carter; six sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include one son, Ralph Carter; one granddaughter, Pam (Bob) Sprouse; two grandsons Greg (Carol) Carter and Kevin Carter; six great grandchildren, Seth (Sharon) Gentry, Tyler (Megan) Gentry, Hunter (Ashley) Gentry, Brynnen Carter, Dylan Carter, Kelsey Carter; one great-great grandchild, Garrett Gentry; and one sister, Ruby Phillips.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 22 in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-7 Tuesday evening.
