She was born June 1, 1930 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Hugh Nathaniel and Wilma Berry. She was married to Clark Heath December 17, 1954.
She was a stay at home mom during her children’s younger years. Later she was employed part time at her church and with Provident.
Helen was affectionately known as Mimi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her servant’s heart and her chocolate chip cookies.
She was a member of Spring Creek Road Baptist Church. She served in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and in the church library. She also was active in Merry Makers and 55 & Alive at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark B Heath.
Helen is survived by her children Wilma (Van) Needham, Mark (Lori) Heath, and Bo (Bekita) Heath and her grandchildren Wesley (Caitlin) Needham, Caleb (Sophia) Heath, Rachel (Jason) Hammons, Alex (Hunter) Hydas, Holly (Travis) Shrader, Hunter Heath, Colby (Kristen) Heath, Clayton (fiancé Sophie Hossler) Heath and Sydney (Drake) Barker. Her great grandchildren, Annabelle, Isaiah, Avery, Bo, Grace, Luke, Brooks, Baker, Ty, Xavier and soon-to-arrive Hampton.
Family will receive friends at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Ridge from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday August 21st. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday August 22, 2018 in the East Chapel with Harold McClure officiating.
