He was a loving father, husband and friend to all he met. With an always available smile and an engaging sense of humor, he made everyone feel comfortable around him.
Irv’s career as an independent contractor in electronic device prototype design was characterized by the same independence and creativity that were earmarks of all facets of his life. Last working at EPB, he is missed by co-workers and superiors for both his professional contributions and for his personal contribution to the EPB team morale.
Irv loved the outdoors and the classic beauty found in all areas of the USA, however he loves the beauty of Tennessee and in particular the Chattanooga area, best of all. His last trip was to the summit near Gatlinburg, a favorite getaway for Irv and his wife Betty. This locale includes “Dollywood,” a park themed after Irv’s favorite entertainer “Dolly Parton”.
Irv was preceded in death by his daughter Debbie.
Irv is survived by his wife Betty, the former Elizabeth Anne Sherman and his daughters Elaine and Lois. Irv also leaves behind his step-sons Tom, Mike, Rick and Ken who he loved as sons and who loved him as their dad.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 404 South Moore Road with Father Jim Vick officiating.
Irv, this world is better from your time with us.
