James Robert “Jack” Gordon, 91, of East Ridge died Friday, November 14, 2014. He was born June 24, 1923 in Houlka, Mississippi to the late Robert Britt and Lillie Belle Gordon. Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by his wife Eloise B. Gordon, and a sister, Elouise Graves. Mr. Gordon was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, serving in the US Army. He was a member of Crosspath Church of East Ridge where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Chapel Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Pinion Gordon; five children, Ron (Barbara) Gordon, Jackie (Al) Jolley, Pam (Bob) Neighbors, Brenda (Glen) Wolinsky, and Bret Gordon; brother, Fred Gordon; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 12:30 pm Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 Monday evening.
