Jean was born and raised in Trenton, Georgia to the late James and Jewel Morrison. She graduated from Trenton High School and Edmondson Business College and had previously worked for the Lutheran School in the Bookkeeping Office. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church where she served on the Evangelism Committee. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Ernest M. Simmons; children, Anne Simmons, Dari (Rick) Selcer and Charlie Simmons; grandson, Trey; brothers, Ed (Jan) Morrison of Atlanta, GA and Reese (Syd) Morrison of Trenton, GA.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Sunday at the funeral home and 1 to 2 PM on Monday at the church.
Funeral Services will be at 2 PM on Monday, March 28, 2016 at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Gilbert H. Pingel officiating.
Burial will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
