Jewell Dean Scott

Jewell was born on August 5, 1922, in Chattanooga, to the late Frank and Margaret (Maggie) Reno. She graduated from Hardy Junior High and City High School. Jewell played basketball while in school and enjoyed bowling. She worked for Cutter Laboratories for 20 years serving in many positions as well as union steward. Jewell was a 70 year member of Ridgeview Baptist Church, where she was a youth leader and Sunday school teacher for over 50 years.

She is preceded in death by her son, Gary L. Scott; and her brother, Louis Reno. Jewell is survived by her sons, Calvin L. (Pam) Scott, and Douglas (Carol) Scott; grandchildren, Lindsey Scott, Amanda Brown, Michelle Mabry, Sherry Jordan, Stacey O’Quinn, and Keri Bumpass; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Janie Scott.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel in East Ridge. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East in Chattanooga; please meet the family at the funeral home by 12:30 PM for the procession to the cemetery.
