Jimmie L. Cooper

Jimmie Loretta Cooper, 82, of Chattanooga passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021. She was a longstanding member of Grace Baptist Tabernacle. Mrs. Cooper retired as a Cafeteria Aid in Hamilton County Schools. She was a member of the John A. Patton Quilting and Crocheting Club and the Lookout Valley Senior Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert G. “Sonny” Cooper; parents, Tennie Dawson Middleton and James A. Middleton; six siblings.

Survivors include her children, Tammie (Skip) Skipalis, Shirley (Barry) Geren, George (Jeanette) Cooper, Ricky (Tina) Cooper and Terry (Stacie) Cooper; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Campbell and Ann Peoples; one brother, J. B. Middleton; Many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with the Rev. Tracy Mantooth and Rev. Jimmy Ferguson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 – 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens West at 1 PM Wednesday, April 28.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
