Mrs. Sims was born in Lynch, Kentucky and was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and belonged to the Friendship Sunday School Class. She was a graduate of Tyner High School Class of 1949 and Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing in 1969 and retired from Parkridge Hospital after 18 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Tom Sims.
Surviving are her children, Richard Sims, William Sims, Rebecca Lackey and Robert Sims; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Opal Maggie Hyde; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Sunday, June 7, 2015 and Noon to 1 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 1 PM on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Rowland officiating.
Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
