Lee Jefferson Hicks Jr.

Lee received his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Cleveland State Community College and completed the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He retired a Captain from the Chattanooga Police Department after 40 years of service. Lee was also retired from the U. S. Army as a Master Sergeant and was a member of the American Legion post 95.

He was a member of Daisy Lodge # 706 F&AM, Royal Arch Masons of Tennessee, The Scottish Rite, Past Grand Officer of the Grand Lodge of Tennessee, Grand Cryptic Masons of Tennessee, Lookout Commandry #14 Knights Templar, Chattanooga, Tennessee, Royal Order of Scotland, and Order of the Eastern Star #359. He was a charter Member, Past President and Past Commander of the Joe Foss Camp, Heroes of ‘76 Sojourners Chattanooga #540.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Lee J. Hicks, Sr. and June McCarson Hicks; a daughter, Wendy Marie Hicks and a sister Peggy (Donnie) Howard.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Doris N. Hicks; daughter, Tammera Hicks; brother, Ronald (Ann) Hicks; two sisters, Shelby (Nelson) Rogers and Betsy Turner, multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Thursday and from 11 AM – 12 PM Friday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road.

Funeral services will be held at 12 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Entombment will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with military honors.
