Lillie Rae Moss

She was preceded in death by her husband, Augustus Smith Moss; parents, Reverend Jerry and Janie Pendley, eight brothers, sister, Ruth Chapman. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

She graduated from Calhoun High School and Business College at Rome, GA. She worked in various levels of business and secretarial duties at Echota Cotton Mills, later sold to Mount Vernon Mills. She retired as Office Manager and Secretary to the CEO in 1982.

She served as President and later as secretary of the Calhoun Business and Professional Women’s Club. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Calhoun and held various positions of leadership in the Sunday School and missionary organizations. Upon moving to Alexian Village in 1998, she joined Signal Mountain Baptist Church.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday in the Saint Augustine Chapel of Alexian at 2:00 PM with Dr. Steven Wright and Rev. Sally Ensley officiating and visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be beside her husband in Fain Cemetery, Calhoun, GA with a graveside service at 4:00 PM, led by Dr. Bert Vaughn. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Signal Mountain Baptist Church building fund.
