Mrs. Lily Gray Jones Becker, age 97, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, TN, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015 in a local healthcare facility. She was born June 29, 1918 to the late Jesse R. and Emma Gray Jones.
Mrs. Becker was a 62 year member of Brainerd Presbyterian and was in the Irvine Bible Class. She was retired from G. C. Murphy at Eastgate Mall after many years of service. She also taught several years at Brainerd High School Special Education Department.
Mrs. Becker was an avid golfer and was a Girl Scout Leader for a number of years. She worked with youth groups to produce special programs.
Her husband Marvin L. Becker preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughters, Jessica Ingram of Zephyrhills, Florida; Linda B. Harris of Chattanooga; four grandchildren, Amy Harris, Benjamin Harris, Julie Smith and Dawn Coleman; 2 great-grandchildren, Tommy Williford and Emily Coleman.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 6, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at the East Chapel.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015 in the East Chapel with Rev. Ronald Ragon officiating.
Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
