Ms. Linda Ann Davis Layman

Linda Ann Davis Layman, 73, of East Ridge passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017. She was an active member of the former Clifton Hills Baptist Church where she played piano and organ and where her father was the pastor. Linda worked for Dr. Robert Thompson as a receptionist for over 15 years and retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance Company as a Customer Service Representative withover 25 years of service. Linda had a servant’s heart and began working with CHI Memorial in June of 2007 where she volunteered for nine years in the Cancer Center. She was one of the first to greet all those who entered the doors with her warm smile, making them feel comfortable and welcomed. She also served on the CHI Memorial Auxiliary Board from 2011 until 2005.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Clifford and Virginia Cooper Davis.

Survivors include her son, Lt. Col. Ret. Steven M. (Chalisse) Layman; daughter, Patricia L. (Wes) Aymon; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Janice (Don) Miller; two brothers, Larry (Linda) Davis and Jerry (Marilyn) Davis; several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Jenny Anderson and her staff of nurses and CNAs at Life Care Center of East Ridge for their loving care and concern.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge with the Rev. Roger Keys officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
