Linda Kay Westmoreland, a bit of a firecracker and known for her quick wit and endearing humor, passed away on February 13, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on June 7, 1954, in Tennessee, Linda was a resident of East Ridge, Tennessee.
Linda graduated from Kirkman Technical High School in 1972 and later earned her Phlebotomy Certification from Chattanooga State. She was also a talented artist, practicing photorealism with colored pencils.
For decades, Linda worked alongside her husband Charles in the produce business. Together, they owned a stand, providing fresh produce to individuals and local businesses. After Charles's death in June 2000, Linda pursued a career as a phlebotomist, earning her certification and beginning a new chapter in her professional life.
Linda was married to Charles Lebron Westmoreland for over 20 years. She had a son, David Lee Dalton, who passed away from cancer in June of last year. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Lynn Martin, son-in-law, Jason Martin, and grandson Ethan Martin, age 7. Her son David had two sons, Dawson Dalton and Dorian Dalton, and she recently became a great-grandmother with the birth of Dorian's first child, Abigail. Linda adored all her grandchildren. She also leaves behind her identical twin sister, Brenda Boss, with whom she was very close, and was one of 11 siblings.
Linda had a love for cooking and often hosted holiday dinners and parties at her home. While she loved to sing, she was a bit bashful about it, though she had a pretty voice. After retiring, Linda enjoyed watching reality television shows, particularly ID investigations or Ghost Hunters.
Although not involved in church activities, Linda considered herself Baptist. Her great sense of humor and playful nature made her a joy to be around. She was known for cracking jokes and giving people a hard time, but she was also incredibly sweet. She didn't suffer fools gladly, and if someone betrayed or upset her, she let them know.
Gratitude is extended to the staff at Life Care at Collegedale and Hearth Hospice, who treated Linda with dignity and respect. Special thanks to her friends at River View Towers, especially Margie, who looked out for Linda and ensured she had what she needed.
In the words of her daughter Jenny Martin, "She knew I could fly on my own, so she let go of the earth. The hard years are done. The weary heart is still. Go now to the ones you missed so dearly. I will carry your strength in my wings and your loss in my heart."
Linda's laughter will be missed most of all.
Linda will be laid to rest privately in the Chattanooga National Cemetery alongside her beloved husband Charles.
