Loretta M. Melton, 84, of Chattanooga passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 in a local hospital. She was a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church and the Lighthouse Sunday School Class. She had worked as the manager of GNC at Eastgate Mall and most recently she had been the gift shop manager at Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl O. Melton; parents, Clyde W. and Nora Church; three brothers, Hargus Church, Clyde W. Church, Jr. and Frank Church.
Survivors include her children, Connie Fresquez, Earl O. Melton, Jr, David Melton, Janet Shell, Chester Melton, Deborah Howard, Lori Watchel and Lisa Waters; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Sutton, Carol Marsh, Rometta Bokhoven, Leonard Church, Sue Lefler, Dan W. Church and Jerry Church; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with the Rev. Jerry Atkins and the Rev. David Melton officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
