Margaret Mary Fraley (nee Mullen), aged 83, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2107 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was born June 21, 1934 in Hastings, Nebraska to the late Mary Agnes and Myron Mullen.
Mary worked as a radiology technician at the Norman Regional hospital in Norman, Oklahoma. It was there she met and married her husband of 60 years, Robert (Bob) Fraley. In addition to raising their five children, she volunteered at the local school and with the Kingsport Diabetes Association. Mary was an excellent pizza maker, loved to entertain and hosted frequent dinners and parties. She and Bob were the perfect match because her response to the various people he brought home for dinner was always “the more the merrier”. Her home was filled with laughter and love. Mary’s hobbies were quilting, sewing and cooking. Her children and extended family will treasure the many quilts she created over the years. More recently Mary greatly enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up.
Mary was preceded in death by her brothers Bob Mullen of Hastings, NE and Jack Mullen of Anaheim, CA.
Mary is survived by Michael Mullen of Denver, CO and her husband, Bob Fraley; son, Michael (Nola) Fraley and daughter, Deborah Fraley of Chattanooga, TN; and daughters, Karen (Greg) Cullison of Ramstein, Germany, Sharon (Consuelo) Fraley of Santiago, Chile and Jo (Elizabeth) Fraley of Philadelphia, PA; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.
There will be a visitation at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, December 28th from 5 to 7 pm. A service will be held on December 29th at 10 am at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Interment will follow the service at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or Alzheimer’s Charity.
