

Mary Guy Jordan, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 1, 2011. A resident of Alexian Village on Signal Mountain for the past two years. She was the daughter of the late Guy T. and Florence Rebecca Pheips Springer. A graduate of Central High School in 1942 where she was a member of the Blue Jackets. She attended the University of Chattanooga and taught at Dalewood Jr. High School for a few years. She became a member of Central Baptist Church on McCallie Avenue at the age of 12 on Easter Sunday April 1937 and remained a member for many years. She and her husband started the first Couples Sunday School Class after the relocation of the church to Woodmore. Currently she is a member at Ridgedale Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class.
Survived by her husband of 66 years, Mack Jordan of Signal Mountain; son, Gary G. Jordan of Baltimore, Maryland; daughter, Lisa Louise Campbell of Ooltewah, Tennessee; 3 grandchildren, Ryan Jordan and his wife Heather of Baltimore, Maryland, Brooke Jordan of Washington D.C., Shannon Davis of East Ridge; 2 great- grandchildren Jordan Davis and Jacob Davis; several nieces and nephews to include Jackie and Joyce Davis, Madison, GA.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 12:30 P.M. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owens officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. and on Monday from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday School Class at Ridgedale Baptist Church.
