Mr. Thurmond was with Bi-Lo for thirty-five years and was the store director of the Dallas Bay Bi-Lo. His greatest joy was spending time with his only daughter, Beth and his grandson, Miller. He was an avid Alabama Football fan and he enjoyed playing golf. Whenever he would enter, he lit up the room and loved making people laugh.
Survivors include his; daughter, Beth (Matt) Sweatman; grandson, Miller Sweatman; fiancé, Kim Warren father, J.C. (Mary) Thurmond; sister, Tammy (Randy) Long; niece, Jessica Long; several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 2, at 1:00 pm in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the New Home Cemetery in Henagar, Alabama.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 Wednesday and from 11-1 Thursday.
