Robert Irving Ruberg (Brother Ronald) died Sunday, January 11, 2015. He was a member of the Alexian Brothers Congregation living at Alexian Health and Rehab Center on Signal Mountain, TN. Born February 25, 1915 in Anderson, IN he grew up with his twin, Richard who preceded him in death as did a brother Raymond and a sister Mildred. He was looking forward to his 100th birthday this year. Brother Ronald entered the Alexian Brothers at Signal Mountain April 12, 1947 and pronounced his life commitment in the Congregation December 8, 1954. He Lived 68 years in the Religious Life as an Alexian Brother.
Brother Ronald served in both Provincial Leadership and Administrative roles at various Alexian Brothers Ministries (Illinois, New Jersey, Missouri and Tennessee). He was a man with phenomenal memory of persons and events which he was able to recreate for others as a skilled raconteur.
A viewing will begin at 5 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2015 followed by a Vesper Service at 7 PM. The viewing continues overnight into Friday morning until the Funeral Mass at 11:15 AM. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
