Robert Snider, 88, of East Ridge, departed this life Sunday, December 27, 2009.Mr. Snider was born in Blacksburg, VA to Robert P. and Macie D. Snider. He was a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church since 1959 where he belonged to the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was a WWII US Army veteran and retired from Stein Construction as a service manager. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Richard Snider, Inez Mustard, Stella Shaver and Mary Sherrer.Survivors include his wife and best friend of 63 years, Freeda Williamson Snider; sons, Robert and Dan (Elizabeth) Snider; Grandchildren, Lori (Bruce) Dodd, Jordan, Nick and Lundy Longstreth, Lance Snider, Amber Wood, and Lindsey Howard; and Great-Grandchildren Bailey Hale and Katy Dodd. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 8 PM on Wednesday and 12 to 1 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.Funeral Services will be at 1 PM on Thursday at the funeral home with Dr. J. David Tabor officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist. 404 South Moore Road.
