Ronald H. Ashton, 84, of Chattanooga passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and was retired from Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company. Ronald was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in Hawaii and Japan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Euel and Evelyn Poe Ashton Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Massey Ashton; daughter, Angela Lynn Ashton of Kennesaw, GA; brother-in-law, Joe Massey of Chattanooga; cousin David (Dolores) Poe of Murrells Inlet, SC.
The family would like to extend special thanks to his caregivers and the PACE program for their excellent care.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at First Lutheran Church, 2800 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37404 with Pastor Gilbert Pingel officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, TN and from 12-1 PM Wednesday at the church.
