

Ron was born on December 26, 1942 in Chattanooga. He was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1960, and a member of Temple Baptist Church and the Believer’s Sunday School Class.
Ron began his 44 plus year automotive career at Andy Trotter Pontiac, followed by Ed Wright Chevrolet, finally retiring after 24 years from Newton Chevrolet.
During his career, Ron served on the General Motors Fixed Advisory Board and was the President of Chevrolet’s “Only the Best Club” as well as many other committees and groups.
Ron’s true love, after his family, was softball. From fast pitch church and industrial teams to slow pitch church, travel and Senior League play where many of his teammates became his second family. Each spring, summer and fall #14 was always on 3rd base. His love of the game and competitive nature will never be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence E. Delaney and mother, Margaret P. Delaney.
Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Janice R. Delaney; son, Mark E. (Lisa) Delaney; daughter, Kristi L. Delaney; sister, Betty McCormick; several nephews, and a niece.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the funeral home with Dr. James P. Rushing, Jr. and Reverend Ken Herring officiating.
Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens West.
The family would like to thank Dr. Womack, Angela Stewart, RN and the Staff of Tennessee Oncology as well as Dr. John Laramore for the exemplary care and support the past 10 months.
