

Rosa Lee O’Dell, age 91, of Chattanooga passed away Sunday, October 17, 2010 at her home. She was born October 16, 1919 in Woodruff, South Carolina to the late Grover Cleveland and Willie Mae McAlister.
Mrs. O’Dell was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class and had taught Sunday School for many years. She was retired from Brock Candy Company after 34 years of service.
Her husband, Major Grant O’Dell, Jr., son, Larry G. O’Dell, and sister, Anna Belle Smith preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Carolyn (Tom) Wilkerson of Chattanooga; Shirley (William) Pippin of Chattanooga; Phillip E. (Debra) O’Dell of Dunlap; Linda (Jack) Stone of Ft. Oglethorpe; daughter-in-law, Diane O’Dell of Harrison; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Mae McKenzie of Soddy Daisy and Viola Bentz of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the East Chapel with the Rev. Brian R. Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park with the grandsons, Tommy Wilkerson, Steve Freer, Chuck Jackson, Greg Grey, John Hill, Billy Stone, and Jason Steadman serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., and Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service.
