

Roseanne Walls Kaylor, 89, died peacefully Thursday, June 27, 2024. She was born January 4, 1935 in Chattanooga, TN and lived most of her life in East Ridge, TN. She graduated from Chattanooga Central High School in 1953. She was a member of South Seminole Baptist Church and, later, Ridgedale Baptist Church.
Roseanne was a talented floral designer, pianist, cake decorator, cook, seamstress, and artist. She enjoyed making ceramics and painting in several mediums.
A great lover of horticulture, she was active in several garden clubs, including as a charter member of the Designer’s Study Club. In addition to being a Master Gardener through the American Horticultural Society, she was also a nationally accredited flower show judge. She was a member of the American Daylily Society and the Hosta Society of America, and had an extensive home garden with a wide variety of beautiful daylilies.
In her later years, she worked tirelessly on her family’s genealogy, including publishing a book of her family history called Written on the Walls. Through her genealogy work, she was able to earn membership in the First Families of Tennessee.
Roseanne was preceded in death by father and mother, L.D. Walls and Josie Faulkner Walls and three older siblings.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Donald Paul Kaylor and two children, Kendall Kaylor (Beth) and Kelli Kaylor, both of Chattanooga, TN; one grandson, Kolby Kaylor; niece, Dianne Anderson (Ronnie) of Chickamauga, GA, nephews James Citty (Ora) of East Ridge, TN, and Dr. Jay Walls (Kim) of Greeneville, SC, as well as several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation will be Monday, July 1, 2024, at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel, 404 S Moore Rd from 4 to 6 pm, followed by a brief service in the chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
