Sammie was born in Chattanooga and was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1961. She was a member of Lookout Valley Presbyterian Church and the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Gamma Chi Chapter. She was previously employed by Vulcan Material and retired from Fulmer Concrete as an Administrative Coordinator.
Surviving are her son, Brad (Kristi) Edmondson; grandsons, Preston Edmondson and Chase Miller; mother, Flo Fryar; sister, Judy (Earl) Montieth; nephews, Trevor Montieth and Jonathan (Kristy) Montieth; nieces, Morgan and Bella Montieth; and Bruce Williams.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Fryar.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Sunday and 10 AM to 11 AM on Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 AM on Monday, March 2, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Grady Davidson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens West.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House or Lookout Valley Presbyterian Church.
