Sara Estelle Greene

She was born in Calhoun, Ga., daughter of Alvin G. and Harriet Addie Clark Allen. She was educated in the Calhoun Schools, and later married Ray Greene. Both Sara and Ray worked at Oak Ridge, TN, during the development of the atomic bomb. She was retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority where she had worked as a Procurement Analyst in the Purchasing Division for many years.

She was a member of the East Ridge Baptist Church and Sunday School for over 40 years. She was active in volunteering at Memorial Hospital and other organizations. Her favorite hobby was playing bridge.

Survivors include a brother, Warren G. Allen and his wife Jane of Spofford, NH, two nieces, Ginger A. Rollins of Zebulon, GA and Catherine C. Vincent of Newcastle, NY, two nephews, Thomas W. Allen of Claremont, NH and Walter J. Allen of Lexington, MA., a special great niece Sheila Johnson and her husband Chuck of Hixson, TN., and several other great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ray, a brother Harry A. Allen a nephew Gary Allen.

Graveside services will be held Monday, March 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Gordon Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, GA. There will not be any visitation.
