Born on September 10, 1966, in Chattanooga, Steve was the son of the late Willard Perry and Dorothy Carter Brooks. He attended East Ridge High School and was of the Baptist faith. He worked as a Dump Truck Operator for Phaltless Paving Company.
A devoted motorcycle enthusiast, Steve cherished every moment riding his Harley Davidson. In his younger years, he raced in Motocross and lived by the motto, “Go big or go home” — a sentiment reflected in everything from his passion to his pickup truck.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy; stepchildren, James Darryl Brown Jr. (Christina), James Cody Wood, and Kristin Sneed (Brett); step-grandchildren, Adalynn Brown and Ripley Sneed; half-brother, Larry David Brooks (Carolyn); as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
