Mr. Erwin was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church. He retired from Ruby Falls. He was a graduate of Central High School, the University of Chattanooga and the Chattanooga College of Law. Mr. Erwin was a past president of the Chattanooga Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Advertising Club of Chattanooga, the Better Business Bureau of Chattanooga and the Brainerd Kiwanis Club. A 56 year member of Kiwanis International, he had 50 years perfect attendance in the Brainerd Club and was a past Lieutenant Governor of Division 3, Kentucky Tennessee District.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Dixie Waller Erwin; son, Thomas A. (Debbie) Erwin, III; brother, Dr. H. Curtis (Libby) Erwin of Glasgow, KY; brother, John M. (Geanne) Erwin of Maitland, FL; and two grandchildren, Alex Erwin and Allison (Alex) Roman.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
Graveside Services will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Forest Hills Cemetery with Dr. H. Curtis Erwin officiating.
